Is the Demo the full release?
Will Demo saves work in Early Access?
Can I play now, and which Steam entry should I use?
Yes: download the free Path of the Yaoguai Demo from the official Steam store. The main game is not released. Steam identifies the main product as app 3739350 and its separate Demo as 5245550. A Coming soon message on the main product does not mean the Demo is unavailable.
- Open the official product page and confirm the title, developer RedKardia and publisher Samar Studio.
- Choose the Demo download rather than looking for an old Playtest invitation or buying access from a third party.
- Install the Demo in your Steam Library and check its latest update before following a dated guide.
- Wishlist the main game if you want Steam’s release notification. Wishlisting does not purchase or unlock the full game.

What can the Demo actually contain?
The October 19 developer announcement describes 21 playable forms, cultivation up to the Foundation realm, one main storyline and 30 side stories. These are the announced Demo boundaries, not a promise that every form starts unlocked. Reincarnation, card combat, exploration and relationships are part of this playable introduction.

For a first session, use the beginner route and the specific mechanic guides rather than chasing every advertised collectible.
Has a release date been confirmed?
No exact date is confirmed in the sources checked on November 7, 2026. The newer October 19 announcement says Steam Early Access is planned for 2027. It supersedes the September aspiration to release during 2026; neither statement proves an actual launch. Steam still says Coming soon.
The old Playtest was due to end when the public Demo opened on September 29. The developer said Playtest saves could carry into that Demo. That statement does not confirm Demo-to-Early-Access save compatibility. Preserve your current saves and wait for an explicit migration notice before assuming it.
What if the download or an old guide does not match?
Reopen the official store in Steam, check that you are looking at the Demo, and compare your installed update with our dated update guide. If an event fails after updating, use the save-safe recovery checklist. This site does not distribute installers, account access or unofficial patches.
